About
A catfish fillet is boneless fish meat that packs slightly more weight into a measuring cup than water.
Catfish fillet has a typical density of about 8.75 ounces per cup (1.05 g/mL), which makes it slightly heavier than an equal amount of water. Because it consists mostly of water and dense muscle protein, an 8-ounce (227 g) serving takes up just under one US cup (216 mL) of volume. Its density is very close to other boneless white fish fillets such as tilapia or cod. The raw flesh packs closely together, leaving very little empty space when placed in a container.
From Wikipedia
Catfish are a diverse group of ray-finned fish of the order Siluriformes. Catfish are named for their prominent barbels, which resemble a cat's whiskers, though not all catfish have prominent barbels.
