A kind of sod · also called Zoysia turf, zoysiagrass sod

About
Zoysia sod is a dense lawn turf cut with attached soil, weighing roughly 10.9 ounces (308 grams) per cup.
With a bulk density of about 81 pounds per cubic foot (1.3 g/mL), Zoysia sod is heavy because it holds a tight mesh of root systems and moist soil. This makes it far heavier than loose grass clippings or bags of potting mix. Its weight is similar to damp garden soil, which means laying an entire pallet requires significant physical effort. That high density is also what makes it a durable, tight cover for lawns and golf course fairways.
From Wikipedia
