About
Vinegar is an acidic cooking liquid that weighs just slightly more than plain water for the same volume.
Vinegar has a density of about 8.4 pounds per gallon (1.01 g/mL), meaning it takes up virtually the same space as water. Because standard household vinegar is mostly water with a small amount of acetic acid, it behaves like water on a kitchen scale. Compared to thicker pantry liquids like maple syrup or honey, vinegar is far lighter and pours freely to fill any measuring container.
From Wikipedia
Vinegar is an odorous aqueous solution of diluted acetic acid and trace compounds that may include flavorings or naturally occurring organic compounds. Vinegar typically contains from 4% to 18% acetic acid by volume.
