A kind of condiment · also called catsup, tomato ketchup
About
Ketchup is a sweet and tangy table sauce that is roughly 15 percent denser than plain water.
At about 9.6 ounces per US cup (1.15 g/mL), ketchup is denser than many common household liquids. It takes up less space for its weight than water or vinegar, though it is not as heavy by volume as honey or molasses. A standard 14-ounce (397 g) bottle contains roughly 1.45 US cups (345 mL) of sauce. Tomato solids, salt, and dissolved sugars provide the extra heft that sets it apart from thinner condiments.
