A kind of salad dressing · also called Ranch, Ranch salad dressing

About
Ranch dressing is a creamy, herb-seasoned American condiment that weighs slightly more than an equal volume of water.
With a typical density of about 8.5 pounds per gallon (1.02 grams per milliliter), ranch dressing is only slightly denser than water. Its emulsion of oil, buttermilk, and seasonings creates a thick texture without adding significant mass compared to thinner dairy liquids. A typical 16-fluid-ounce (473-milliliter) store bottle holds about 17 ounces (482 grams) of dressing by weight. It takes up virtually the same space as similar creamy condiments like mayonnaise and sour cream.
From Wikipedia

Sour cream and yogurt are sometimes used in addition to, or as a substitute for, buttermilk and mayonnaise.
