A kind of fig · also called common fig, fig
About
Fresh figs are soft, teardrop-shaped fruits whose rounded outlines leave open air pockets when gathered in a container.
Fresh figs have a bulk density of 0.38 ounces per cubic inch (0.65 g/mL) because their curved shapes do not fit tightly together. At about 5.4 ounces (154 g) per US cup, they take up more room for their weight than smaller, compact fruits like blueberries. Although each individual fruit is moist and soft, loose packing keeps a container of fresh figs relatively light on the scale.
From Wikipedia
The fig is the edible fruit of Ficus carica, a species of tree or shrub in the flowering plant family Moraceae, native to the Mediterranean region, and to western and southern Asia. It has been cultivated since ancient times and is now widely grown throughout the world.
