A kind of cabbage · also called Head cabbage, White cabbage
About
Green cabbage is a leafy vegetable cultivar that grows into a compact head roughly seven inches across.
Green cabbage is a cultivar of Brassica oleracea, making it closely related to broccoli, cauliflower, and miniature relatives like Brussels sprouts. While grocery store heads typically weigh around 2.2 pounds (1 kg), farm-grown cabbages can range from 1 to 9 pounds (0.5 to 4 kg). Because the leaves are tightly layered, it is significantly heavier and denser than a similarly sized head of iceberg lettuce. Giant exhibition cabbages grown for competitions can even exceed 100 pounds (45 kg).
