About
Dry soba noodles are thin Japanese buckwheat noodles that weigh about 4.2 ounces (118 g) per cup.
Dry soba noodles have a bulk density of about 0.29 ounces per fluid ounce (0.5 g/mL). Because these long, slender noodles sit loosely against each other in a container, they take up about twice as much space as an equal weight of water. Their volume and packing density are very close to dry spaghetti, but they take up considerably more room per ounce than small, dense grains like white rice.
