About
The dime is the smallest and thinnest circulating coin in United States currency.
The ten-cent piece is smaller and lighter than both the penny and the nickel, despite having a higher monetary value. It remains the thinnest coin produced for regular circulation by the United States Mint. Modern dimes have kept these exact dimensions and weight since copper-nickel clad production began in 1965.
From Wikipedia
The dime, in United States currency, is equal to 1⁄10 of a dollar, or ten cents ($0.10). The dime coin is labeled formally as "one dime", as a dime is legally an independent subunit of the dollar.
