About
A standard soda can is a compact aluminum cylinder designed to hold twelve fluid ounces of beverage in one hand.
While the 12-ounce size is the standard in North America, drink cans also range from slim 7.5-ounce mini cans to taller 16-ounce containers. An empty aluminum can weighs only about half an ounce (15 g), meaning the beverage accounts for over 95 percent of its total weight. The uniform cylindrical shape is engineered so millions of cans can pack tightly into crates and store shelves worldwide.
