About
A laptop is a portable personal computer designed to fold shut into a slim package about a foot wide.
Laptop sizes vary widely, from compact 11-inch netbooks to heavy 17-inch workstations that weigh more than 6 pounds (2.7 kg). Unlike handheld tablets, laptops pack full desktop operating systems, cooling fans, and physical keyboards into their lower halves. Even with all of those internal hardware components, standard models remain under 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick when closed.
