A kind of cocoa bean · also called Cacao nibs

About
Cocoa nibs are crushed pieces of cacao beans that weigh about 4.6 ounces (130 grams) per cup.
Cocoa nibs have a bulk density of about 4.6 ounces per US cup (0.55 grams per milliliter). Because they are irregular, crushed pieces of dried cacao seeds, they leave open air spaces between each fragment when poured into a container. This low packing density means nibs take up significantly more space than solid chocolate or fine cocoa powder of the same weight.
From Wikipedia
The cocoa bean, also known as cocoa or cacao, is the dried and fully fermented seed of Theobroma cacao, the cacao tree. Due to its high fat content, the bean can be ground into a liquor, from which cocoa butter and cocoa powder are extracted.
