About
Bulgur is a cracked wheat cereal that packs about 6.7 ounces (189 grams) into a single measuring cup.
Dry bulgur has a bulk density of about 50 pounds per cubic foot (0.8 grams per milliliter), packing closely together with little empty air between the cracked grains. A standard US cup holds approximately 6.7 ounces (189 grams) of the grain. This puts its volume and weight very close to dry white rice, while being roughly twice as dense as flaked cereals. A typical one-pound (454-gram) bag occupies about 2.4 US cups (570 milliliters) of shelf space.
