About
A toothpick is a miniature wooden stick just over two inches long, designed for cleaning teeth or serving small appetizers.
Wooden toothpicks are typically carved from birch and stay uniform in size, though cocktail picks and sandwich skewers can be several inches longer. Compared to a common wooden matchstick, a toothpick is much thinner and tapers to a sharp point at one or both ends. Because each stick weighs only a fraction of a gram, hundreds of them can fit inside a container small enough for a pocket.
From Wikipedia
A toothpick is a small thin stick of wood, plastic, bamboo, metal, bone or other substance with at least one and sometimes two pointed ends to insert between teeth to remove detritus, usually after a meal. Toothpicks are also used in food decoration and tableware as cocktail skewers; they are used to hold or spear small appetizers, and can be decorated with plastic frills, small paper umbrellas or flags.

Quick answer
A standard toothpick measures about 2.6 inches (6.5 cm) long and 0.08 inches (2 mm) thick, weighing roughly 0.0035 ounces (0.1 g). That makes it about half the length of an average pen and lightweight enough to float easily.
