A kind of pecan · also called Shelled pecans, Pecan nut halves

About
Pecan halves are shelled edible nuts from a North American hickory tree that pack loosely due to their curved shape.
Pecan halves have a bulk density of roughly 3.7 ounces per cup (0.44 g/mL). Because of their grooved, curved shape, they do not settle tightly and leave substantial air pockets in a measuring container. This makes whole halves significantly lighter by volume than chopped pecans or smoother, denser nuts like almonds.
From Wikipedia
The pecan is a species of hickory native to the Southern United States and northern Mexico in the region of the Mississippi River.
