A kind of dog
About
The Irish Wolfhound is one of the tallest domestic dog breeds, originally bred to hunt large game.
It is widely considered the tallest of all sighthound breeds, often exceeding the Great Dane in shoulder height while maintaining a leaner frame. Males are generally larger than females, with full-grown adults sometimes surpassing 140 pounds (64 kg). When standing on its hind legs, this giant hound can reach over 7 feet (2.1 m) tall, allowing it to tower over most humans.
From Wikipedia
The Irish Wolfhound is a breed of large sighthound that has, by its presence and substantial size, inspired literature, poetry and mythology. One of the largest of all breeds of dog, the breed is used by coursing hunters who have prized it for its ability to dispatch game caught by other, swifter sighthounds.

Quick answer
An average Irish Wolfhound stands about 35 inches (0.9 m) tall at the shoulder, stretches 45 inches (1.15 m) long, and weighs roughly 119 pounds (54 kg). This makes it tall enough to comfortably rest its head on a standard dining table without reaching up.
