About
The Bullmastiff is a large, powerfully built English dog breed that stands over two feet tall.
This breed was created in nineteenth-century England by crossing the massive English Mastiff with the smaller Bulldog to guard large estates. Although it is more compact and lighter than a full English Mastiff, its broad skull and deep chest give it a very dense frame. Males are usually taller and heavier than females. Despite their heavy weight, these dogs were bred to sprint quickly over short distances to hold intruders.
