About
The domestic dog is the first domesticated animal, represented here at the size of an average large breed.
Dogs display more variation in body size than any other land mammal. Breeds range from tiny companions under 6 pounds (2.7 kg) to giant mastiffs that can surpass 180 pounds (82 kg). Males of a given breed are usually slightly taller and heavier than females. This model represents a standard medium-to-large individual, similar in weight to a smaller wild gray wolf.
From Wikipedia
The dog is a domesticated descendant of wolves. Also called the domestic dog, it was selectively bred during the Late Pleistocene by hunter-gatherers.
