About
A standard hockey puck is a dense rubber disk measuring 3 inches across and 1 inch thick.
Regulation game pucks range between 5.5 and 6 ounces, placing this 6-ounce (0.17 kg) model at the top of the official weight standard. Youth leagues often use lighter 4-ounce (0.11 kg) pucks, while players practice with heavier 10-ounce (0.28 kg) pucks to build wrist strength. Variations made for inline hockey share similar dimensions but add small plastic runners to glide on dry surfaces. Before professional games, pucks are kept frozen to prevent bouncing without altering their size.
