About
A guitar pick is a small triangular tool for plucking strings, measuring barely over an inch long.
Guitar picks vary most noticeably in thickness, ranging from thin models under 0.02 inches (0.5 mm) to heavy versions over 0.06 inches (1.5 mm). Most share a length around 1.2 inches (3 cm) to fit naturally between the thumb and index finger. Mandolin and jazz picks are often slightly smaller for precise control, while bass picks can be wider. Tiny changes in thickness of just fractions of a millimeter drastically alter how stiff the pick feels.
From Wikipedia
