About
Fresh cranberries are light, tart red berries that pack loosely, weighing under four ounces per cup.
Whole fresh cranberries have a bulk density of about 3.7 ounces per US cup (0.45 grams per milliliter), leaving plenty of empty space between berries. Because the fruit has hollow air chambers inside, cranberries float in water and weigh much less by volume than blueberries or grapes. A typical 12-ounce (340-gram) grocery bag holds about 3.2 US cups (755 milliliters) of fruit.
