A kind of pallet · also called Euro-pallet, Euro pallet, EPAL pallet
About
The EUR-pallet is a standardized wooden freight base built to fit European transport systems and carry heavy cargo.
This design is slightly narrower than the standard American pallet, allowing two units to sit side by side inside European train cars and trucks. The standardized 5.9-inch (0.15 m) height leaves just enough clearance for forklift tines while keeping cargo close to the floor. Depending on wood moisture, pallet weight typically hovers around 44 to 55 pounds (20 to 25 kg). Despite this relatively light frame, a single pallet is rated to hold safe working loads of up to 3,300 pounds (1,500 kg).
From Wikipedia
The EUR-pallet, also known as Euro-pallet or EPAL-pallet, is the standard European pallet as specified by the UIC pallet working group and the UIC 435-2 leaflet. Pallets conforming to the standardization are eligible for the European Pallet Pool (EPP), the system which allows for an exchange as "pallet for pallet".
