About
The English walnut is a widely grown tree nut with a round shell about the size of a golf ball.
English walnuts are typically larger and have much thinner shells than wild black walnuts, making them easier to open. Their size can vary depending on the cultivar and climate, though commercial growers usually select trees that produce uniform nuts. On the tree, the nut is covered by a thick green husk that makes the entire fruit look as large as a plum.
