A kind of motorcycle · also called off-road motorcycle, trail bike
About
A dirt bike is a lightweight off-road motorcycle built tall and narrow to handle rough terrain.
Dirt bikes are built much lighter and taller than street-oriented motorcycles like cruisers or sport bikes. Their long-travel suspension pushes the seat height up, often between 34 and 38 inches (86 and 97 cm) off the ground. Sizes vary across models, ranging from compact youth bikes with 50 cc engines up to powerful 450 cc competition machines. Despite their tall stance, the stripped-down frame and minimal plastic bodywork keep the overall weight low.
