About
An American football field is a standard sports grid spanning 360 feet (109.7 m) from end zone to end zone.
Although people often cite 100 yards (91.4 m) as the standard distance, the actual playing surface extends to 120 yards or 360 feet (109.7 m) when counting the scoring areas at each end. It is narrower and shorter than a Canadian football field, which spans 150 yards (137.2 m) by 65 yards (59.4 m). The entire field spans about 1.32 acres (0.54 hectares) of grass or artificial turf marked by yard lines every 5 yards (4.6 m).
