About
An all-terrain vehicle is a compact, four-wheeled motorized machine built low to the ground for off-road travel.
ATVs range from small youth models under 250 pounds (113 kg) to heavy utility rigs weighing more than 900 pounds (408 kg). While they have four wheels like an automobile, a typical quad is less than half the length of a compact car. They are also narrower than side-by-side utility vehicles, which feature enclosed cabs and side-by-side seating. Their compact frame and wide tires allow them to fit down tight woodland trails where full-size trucks cannot go.
From Wikipedia
An all-terrain vehicle (ATV), also known as a light utility vehicle (LUV), a quad bike or quad, as defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is a vehicle that travels on low-pressure tires, has a seat that is straddled by the operator, and has handlebars, similar to a motorcycle. As the name implies, it is designed to handle a wider variety of terrain than most other vehicles.

Quick answer
A standard all-terrain vehicle measures about 6.9 feet (2.1 m) long, 4.1 feet (1.25 m) tall, and weighs roughly 705 pounds (320 kg). This gives it an overall footprint close to a three-person sofa, though it weighs several times more.
