About
A 5-gallon bucket is a standard utility container measuring about 14 inches tall and a foot wide.
These containers are significantly larger than everyday 2-gallon or 3-gallon household cleaning pails. Most designs feature a slight taper from top to bottom, which allows multiple empty buckets to nest tightly together. While light when empty, filling a bucket completely with water increases its total weight to more than 40 pounds (18 kg).
From Wikipedia
A bucket is typically a watertight, vertical cylinder or truncated cone or square, with an open top and a flat bottom that is attached to a semicircular carrying handle called the bail. A bucket is usually an open-top container.
