About
Wheatgrass powder is a light dietary supplement made from young wheat leaves that takes up considerable volume for its weight.
Wheatgrass powder is made by drying and finely milling the earliest leaves of the common wheat plant. It has a loose bulk density of around 28 pounds per cubic foot (0.45 g/mL) because air easily gets trapped between the dry plant particles. A standard one-pound (454-gram) bag takes up more than 4 US cups (1.0 liter) of kitchen space. This makes it far lighter than granulated sugar and similar in volume to other powdered greens like matcha.
From Wikipedia
Wheatgrass is the freshly sprouted first leaves of the common wheat plant, used as a food, drink, or dietary supplement. Wheatgrass is served freeze dried or fresh, and so it differs from wheat malt, which is convectively dried.
