About
Cyclodextrin powder is an airy, starch-derived compound whose loose bulk fills space very similarly to all-purpose baking flour.
With a bulk density of roughly 34 pounds per cubic foot (0.55 g/mL), cyclodextrin powder is a fairly light material made by processing plant starch. It takes up slightly less space than cocoa powder or cornstarch, but it is far less dense than granulated sugar or salt. A standard 1-quart container holds about 1.15 pounds (520 g) of the dry substance. Because it packs loosely, settled quantities can vary slightly depending on how the powder is poured.
From Wikipedia
Cyclodextrins are a family of cyclic oligosaccharides, consisting of a macrocyclic ring of glucose subunits joined by α-1,4 glycosidic bonds. Cyclodextrins are produced from starch by enzymatic conversion.
