About
A reindeer is a cold-climate deer that stands about chest-high to an average human adult.
Reindeer are medium-sized members of the deer family, noticeably smaller than a moose but heavier than a typical white-tailed deer. Males are significantly larger and heavier than females, although this is the only deer species where both sexes grow large antlers. Their hooves are also unusually broad, acting like natural snowshoes to keep their weight from sinking into soft Arctic snow.
From Wikipedia
The reindeer or caribou is a species of deer with circumpolar distribution, native to the Arctic, subarctic, tundra, boreal, and mountainous regions of Northern Europe, Siberia, and North America. It is the only representative of the genus Rangifer.
