About
The giant otter is a South American river predator and the longest member of the entire weasel family.
It is the longest mustelid on Earth, outstretching the sea otter in length, though sea otters are generally heavier. Males grow slightly larger than females, with full-grown adults sometimes reaching closer to 6 feet in length. Roughly one-third of the animal's total body length comes from its broad, flattened tail, which it uses like a paddle to swim through murky rivers.
