About
The human hand is a versatile grasping limb measuring about 7.3 inches long from wrist to fingertip.
Adult male hands are typically slightly larger than female hands, usually ranging from 6.8 to 7.6 inches (17.3 to 19.3 cm) in total length. Compared to other primates, humans have shorter fingers and a longer, fully opposable thumb adapted for fine motor control rather than tree climbing. Despite containing 27 distinct bones, each hand accounts for less than one percent of an adult's total body weight.
From Wikipedia
A hand is a prehensile, multi-fingered appendage located at the distal end (extremity) of the forelimbs/upper limbs of tetrapod animals — chiefly primates such as humans, chimpanzees, monkeys and lemurs — that is used primarily for grasping and object manipulation. Some non-primate arboreal vertebrates with opposable fingers such as the koala, opossums, chameleons and leaf frogs are often also described as having "hands" instead of paws or feet.
