About
Crushed concrete is recycled demolition rubble broken into small stones, packing heavy weight into a compact space.
With a bulk density of roughly 90.5 pounds per cubic foot (1.45 grams per milliliter), crushed concrete is heavier than loose soil but lighter than unbroken slab concrete. Because air pockets sit between the jagged stones, the crushed rubble takes up more space than the original solid material. It is commonly used as a dense, affordable base for roads, paths, and retaining walls.
From Wikipedia
Concrete recycling is the use of rubble from demolished concrete structures. Recycling is cheaper and more ecological than trucking rubble to a landfill.
