A kind of sand

About
Dry sand is a granular mineral material that packs about 13.4 ounces (379 grams) into a single measuring cup.
Dry sand has a typical bulk density of about 100 pounds per cubic foot (1.6 grams per milliliter). Because individual grains leave tiny air gaps between them, loose sand occupies slightly more space than tightly packed sand. A standard gallon container filled with dry sand weighs about 13.4 pounds (6.1 kilograms), making it denser than dry topsoil or sawdust. Without moisture to bind the mineral grains together, the particles slide freely against one another.
From Wikipedia
Dry quicksand is loose sand whose bulk density is reduced by blowing air through it and which yields easily to weight or pressure. It acts similarly to normal quicksand, but it does not contain any water and does not operate on the same principle.
