About
The bull shark is a stout coastal predator capable of growing over eight feet long and entering freshwater rivers.
Female bull sharks grow noticeably larger and heavier than males, with maximum lengths sometimes exceeding 10 feet (3 m). Their thick, muscular bodies give them a heavier build than many other requiem sharks of similar length. Despite their substantial mass, they easily navigate shallow coastal waters and can travel deep into freshwater rivers and lakes.
