About
The southern elephant seal is the world's largest seal and the heaviest carnivore on Earth.
Southern elephant seals are the largest living marine mammals that are not whales. Adult males are drastically larger than females, frequently weighing three to four times as much. A mature bull reaches more than double the weight of a male Pacific walrus or northern elephant seal. Males also develop a distinct, inflatable snout that helps project loud roars across crowded breeding beaches.
From Wikipedia
The southern elephant seal is one of two species of elephant seals. It is the largest member of the clade Pinnipedia and the order Carnivora, as well as the largest extant marine mammal that is not a cetacean.
