About
The red kangaroo is the world's largest living marsupial, standing nearly as tall as an adult human.
It is the largest native land mammal in Australia and easily surpasses all other kangaroo species in mass. Males grow considerably larger than females and can reach even heavier weights in good conditions. Despite this impressive adult size, a red kangaroo starts life measuring only about an inch long when it enters the mother's pouch.
From Wikipedia

It is found across mainland Australia, except for the more fertile areas, such as southern Western Australia, the eastern and southeastern coasts, and the rainforests along the northern coast.
