About
The red fox is the largest true fox species, matching the overall length of a small dog.
Although it is the largest of the true foxes, the red fox is surprisingly light because of its slender skeleton and thick coat. Males are usually slightly longer and heavier than females, though size varies depending on geographic location. Much of its visible size comes from its bushy tail and long fur, which make the animal appear much bulkier than its true weight suggests.
From Wikipedia
The red fox is the largest of the true foxes, and the most widely distributed member of the order Carnivora. It is present across the entire Northern Hemisphere, including most of North America, Europe and Asia, as well as parts of North Africa.

Quick answer
A typical red fox stands about 16 inches (0.4 m) tall at the shoulder, reaches 35 inches (0.9 m) in length, and weighs around 12 pounds (5.5 kg). That gives it roughly the height of a beagle, but the light, lean body of a domestic cat.
