About
The North American cougar is North America's largest native cat subspecies, growing as long as a three-cushion sofa.
This subspecies is the largest native cat in North America and the second-largest in the Americas after the jaguar. Males are significantly larger and heavier than females, creating a wide natural size range. Despite growing to the length and weight of large leopards, cougars cannot roar and are classified in the same feline subfamily as domestic cats.
