About
The Nile crocodile is a giant African reptile that can grow as long as a passenger car.
It is the second-largest living reptile in the world, smaller only than the saltwater crocodile. Males are significantly larger than females, which usually reach lengths between 10 and 12 feet (3 and 3.7 m). In rare cases, old males can exceed 18 feet (5.5 m) and weigh more than 2,000 pounds (900 kg). Despite their huge mature size, hatchlings break out of their eggs measuring only about 12 inches (30 cm) long.

Quick answer
A mature adult measures about 14.8 feet (4.5 m) long, stands 1.8 feet (0.55 m) tall, and weighs around 990 pounds (450 kg). That length is comparable to a midsize family sedan, with a weight close to a concert grand piano.
