About
The giant anteater is a ground-dwelling mammal that stretches nearly six feet long from its slender snout to its bushy tail.
It is by far the largest of the four living anteater species, easily dwarfing its tree-climbing relatives. A large portion of its total length comes from its elongated head and broad, brush-like tail. Males and females look very similar, with adults generally falling in the same size range across their native Central and South American habitats.
