About
The European hare is a large hare native to Europe and Asia, growing roughly as long as a house cat.
This species ranks among the largest of all hares, easily outsizing common wild rabbits. Adult males and females are generally similar in size, with females sometimes being slightly heavier. Their long hind limbs give them great height when sitting upright and allow them to take huge bounding strides across open country.

Quick answer
A European hare measures about 24 inches (0.6 m) long, stands 11 inches (0.28 m) tall, and weighs roughly 8.4 pounds (3.8 kg). That puts its body length close to a domestic cat, though it has much longer legs and ears.
