About
The common wombat is a stout, burrowing Australian marsupial about the size and weight of a medium dog.
It is the largest of the three living wombat species, easily recognized by its hairless nose. Adults typically weigh between 44 and 77 pounds (20 to 35 kg), with females often averaging slightly heavier than males. Despite having short legs and a low profile, their dense, muscular frames give them surprising power for digging extensive underground burrows.

Quick answer
A common wombat measures about 3.3 feet (1 m) long, stands 14 inches (0.35 m) tall, and weighs roughly 57 pounds (26 kg). That makes it about as heavy as a basset hound, but with a much more compact, barrel-shaped body.
