A kind of pill bug · also called roly-poly, potato bug, common pill woodlouse, pill bug
About
The common pill bug is a small terrestrial crustacean that measures just over half an inch in length.
While common pill bugs are among the larger woodlice found in gardens, they remain quite small compared to their aquatic relatives. Adult sizes can vary depending on diet and moisture, with fully grown females often reaching slightly greater bulk than males. When threatened, they roll into a tight ball about the diameter of a green pea to protect their underside. Deep-sea relatives in the same isopod order can grow over thirty times longer than this backyard creature.
