A kind of octopus · also called European octopus, Octopus vulgaris

About
A widely studied marine cephalopod that stretches about 2.6 feet long and weighs around 11 pounds.
While far smaller than the giant Pacific octopus, it is considerably larger than tiny species like the blue-ringed octopus. Fully grown adults usually range from 6 to 20 pounds (3 to 9 kg), with males and females reaching similar sizes. Because its body lacks any bones, an octopus of this size can squeeze through an opening no larger than its rigid beak.
From Wikipedia

Quick answer
A typical common octopus measures about 2.6 feet (0.8 m) long, 1 foot (0.3 m) tall, and weighs 11 pounds (5 kg). That makes it roughly as heavy as a domestic cat, with an arm span that can cover a small coffee table.
