About
The ball python is a small, heavy-bodied African constrictor that grows to about 4 feet long.
This species is the smallest of all African pythons, staying far more manageable in size than relatives like the African rock python. Females are usually larger and heavier than males. Adults average around 4 feet (1.2 m), though rare individuals can stretch up to 6 feet (1.8 m). When defensive, the snake curls into a tight, spherical mass barely larger than a grapefruit.
