About
The Atlantic bluefin tuna is a massive marine fish that regularly grows longer than an adult human.
It is the largest of all tuna species, easily dwarfing relatives like albacore and skipjack. While typical adults match this size, rare trophy individuals can exceed 10 feet (3 m) in length and weigh over 1,000 pounds (450 kg). Males and females grow at similar rates and reach comparable sizes. Their dense muscular bodies pack an immense amount of weight into a streamlined, torpedo-like shape.
