About
A standard baseball is a compact, leather-wrapped sphere measuring about 3 inches across and weighing roughly 5 ounces.
Official baseball specifications require a circumference between 9 and 9.25 inches, which corresponds to a diameter of roughly 2.9 to 3 inches (0.075 m). It is significantly smaller and denser than a standard softball, which measures 11 to 12 inches around. Despite fitting easily inside an adult palm, the tightly wound layers of yarn around a cork and rubber center give it a solid weight of 5.1 ounces (0.145 kg).
From Wikipedia
Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Gameplay centers around the pitcher on the fielding team throwing a baseball to a batter on the opposing team, who tries to hit it into the field of play.
